MECHANICAL HEART: A brother's tribute
The inspiration
MECHANICAL HEART is not a metaphor, it is a tribute.
I lost my brother, who was waiting for a heart transplant that he never received. So I wanted to create the one I would have liked to build for him with my own hands. A hybrid heart, tinkered with, assembled, so that he could stay with us a little longer.
The symbol
This bright red placed on this sunny yellow is life beating, despite everything.
The bolts, the metal parts, it's a derisory but sincere attempt to repair the irreparable.

The creative process
This work was born out of a need rather than an idea.
It is part of my series Objects Contrariés, but it carries a different intimate charge: beyond the diversion, it is a piece that retains a vanished breath, that transforms absence into presence, that gives body to memory.
The manufacturing
The core is made of polyurethane, PVC and metal, on painted glass in a painted aluminum frame.
The impact
MECHANICAL HEART touches everyone differently: some see it as a fusion of human and machine, others as a critique of our times. For me, it's above all a heartbeat that stopped too soon, which I wanted to prolong through art.
